soni EVA
Rear face: not self-adhesive (nk) | Thickness: 1.5 mm
soni EVA is a soft, elastic heavy layer on the basis of EPDM/EVA polymers with an admixture of flame-retardant minerals. Our soni EVA heavy layer is suitable specifically for technical applications, vehicles and machinery. It is designed to eliminate vibrations and drumming of sheet metal and metal parts. Applied to a metal structure, soni EVA will effectively reduce the sound level and prevent the transmission of noise and vibration. For soni EVA, the optional self-adhesive equipment of the rear face serves primarily as an installation aid. In the case of installation on a vertical surface or on a ceiling, we recommend additional mechanical fixation.

soni RESIST UV
Effective noise protection in outdoor areas: Order UV-stable acoustic panels from soniflex Noise can become a problem not only indoors, but may also cause considerable discomfort in outdoor areas. Whether noise from traffic, construction sites or lively neighbors – soundproofing solutions for outdoor use are an essential tool for creating a quiet environment and improving your quality of life. Noise barrier walls and noise protection fences made of soni RESIST UV are an effective and durable solution for this purpose. soni RESIST UV is a hard-wearing and acoustically effective closed-cell PE foam treated with special UV stabilization for outdoor applications. The soni RESIST UV soundproofing panel is available in black and has excellent weather and UV resistance. Hence this product can be exposed to sunlight without concern and is ideal for use as a noise barrier to neighboring properties. The advantages of soni RESIST UV: - Extremely low water absorption - High stability and structural strength - Stain-resistant and easy to clean - Good weather and UV resistance - No medium for micro-organism growth - Tested according to DIN 4102, B2 Instructions/recommended implementation: For effective sound absorption, the material should be applied on the side of the sound source and not be covered with dense material so that the sound waves can enter the acoustic panel and be absorbed. We recommend covering the joints between the panels with suitable material (e.g. fence slats, aluminum strips) to prevent gaps. After installation, the surface can be planted with greenery (e.g. ivy) or covered with fence fabric. Such an air- and sound-permeable camouflage will only slightly reduce the sound absorption effect. For pictures of real-life applications and customer testimonials click here.

Description

Noise protection in outdoor areas

Permanent street noise, neighbors who like to party, noisy lawnmowers or the lively children's playground across the street - such noise sources may spoil your leisure time in your own garden or on the balcony. If you wish to have an undisturbed conversation on the terrace or read a book in peace and quiet, you need effective noise control products designed for outdoor applications. Permanent noise pollution can negatively affect health and wellbeing - even though they are often only perceived on the subconscious level. Headaches, hearing impairments and sleep disturbances are only some of the potential effects.

We have the right solution to remedy the situation. Our UV-stable and weather-resistant acoustic products are perfect for use in outdoor noise-control applications. In many cases the noise-protection solution can also double as a privacy-protection measure, e.g. by adapting the height of the noise-control wall.

We would be pleased to support you in planning your solution free of charge and provide you with ideas successfully implemented by satisfied customers.

Effective insulation of noise-control enclosures - no problem with soniflex

Acoustic enclosures serve to insulate the sources of annoying noise. Among typical noise sources in outdoor areas you will often find heat pumps. Surrounding such a device by a suitable enclosure that is equipped with our soniflex sound insulation mats, will greatly reduce the audible volume of the noise. The humming and whirring of the heat pump can thus be lowered to a tolerable level and is no longer perceived as a nuisance by neighbors and visitors. In addition, the cover or enclosure protects your device from sunlight, hail, rain or vandalism.

Testimonials

Noise reduction in outdoor application (garden wall)

We needed a privacy and noise screen for our garden plot located in a residential area. The solution was a “sandwich construction” consisting of a solid wooden fence (2 m high) in combination with weather-resistant soni RESIST UV noise-control panels as the middle layer. To build the construction, we securely fixed the fence posts on the foundation. On the fence posts we screwed three rows of crossbeams, inbetween which we wedged the noise-control panels. On the crossbeams, we fixed the wooden pickets on both the inside and the outside, with the acoustic panels securely sandwiched in-between.

Now passers-by cannot look into our garden anymore and we profit from a substantial reduction of the street noise.

Advice for mounting:
When mounting the panels edge to edge, the joints should be covered in some way since there may be some gaps due to the panels’ dimensional stability as listed in the data sheet.

Soundproofing a swimming pool pump

One of our customers sent us the following pictures of his sound enclosure box for the pool pump in the garden. The inside of the enclosure is lined with our product soni RESIST.

Noise-control wall for outdoor applications

For acoustic insulation in outdoor areas, soniflex recommends the construction of a noise-protection wall as close as possible to the noise source.

To build such a wall, soni RESIST UV panels can either be inserted in a suitable frame structure, or mounted on a new or existing enclosure (e.g. a fence or a wall made from wood, brick or stone). The acoustic product needs to be fixed on the side facing the noise source.

Insulating an enclosure with soniflex products

The noise level generated by outdoor appliances must not exceed 50 dB during the day and must not be louder than 35 dB at night. The threshold values are a bit higher in so-called mixed residential areas and somewhat lower in health resort areas.

An enclosure for a noisy appliance is essentially a small house that is built around the noise source. Depending on the model, it should then be acoustically insulated with noise protection panels. The sound-insulating panels are attached to the inside, either glued on with the help of our special adhesive or mechanically fastened with screws. As an alternative, you can use our soni RESIST Box UV kit for the especially easy creation of an enclosure.

The noise protection effect of the sound-insulated walls can be further enhanced by placing the appliance on an insulating base. For this purpose, we offer special vibration damping products.

Our sound-insulation panels are the ideal solution in a wide variety of areas: They are especially easy to install and provide efficient noise protection that you will notice immediately. The mats can be cut to size as required without effort.
